Music:
The concert,
to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption, is centred
on the
plainchant hymn "Benedicta est" and the Mass: "Benedicta
es caelorum" by
Palestrina. We will also sing motets, anthems
and English carols on the Marian theme,
including the "Sans Day Carol" and "Angelus ad Virginem".
The concert is being held in aid of
the Hexham Abbey Festival fund
